To our friends and family:
The late Robert Townsend of Avis said, “Values are critical guides for making decisions. When in doubt, they cut through the fog like a beacon in the night.” As the coronavirus situation evolves, our team remains focused on how we keep our people safe and our operations running. Each day, we are guided by our values.
First, team members are family, including customers, vendors and the communities we serve. Our people and their safety come first. Also, honesty and integrity guide us. Should we face tough decisions, we will keep two-way lines of communication open as usual. Last, we are action-oriented and accountable. We have taken these actions to move forward responsibly:
- Agility: Where possible, we are moving to flexible work arrangements, amending our leave policies to accommodate potential circumstances created by COVID-19 — including recovering from illness and mandatory quarantining. Where team members are required onsite, we are following CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines for virus prevention.
- Execution: As with past disruptive events, we can adjust operations to ensure customers get the products and services they depend on. Our branch network is prepared with nationwide inventory and logistics to serve customers in an ever-changing environment. Our world-class supply chain partners flex to meet changing demands.
- Innovation: Our associates are embracing technology to meet virtually and work remotely, bringing the same passion to serve customers with local expertise, nationwide.
We know we will need to adapt as we learn more. I’m proud of our team and their unwavering commitment to get the job done with level heads and kind hearts.
To foster a world where communities thrive because our people and products provide safe, sustainable infrastructure for generations to come.
