(NYSE: CNM), a leading specialty distributor dedicated to advancing reliable infrastructure with local service, nationwide, today announced changes to its legal leadership team, effective April 1, 2026, as part of the company’s long-term succession planning.
Mark Whittenburg, general counsel, has retired, and Jackie Burkhardt will assume the role of general counsel, chief compliance officer and secretary.
Whittenburg was instrumental in guiding Core & Main through its spin off as an independent company in 2017, its IPO in 2021, and more than 40 acquisitions. Prior to joining Core & Main, Whittenburg was based in Shanghai, where he served as vice president of legal in the automotive safety industry.

Burkhardt will be responsible for the company’s legal, compliance, and environmental, health and safety teams. She has been with Core & Main since 2019, when she began as director of legal, and has taken on roles of increasing responsibility ever since. Prior to Core & Main, Jackie was in private practice providing counsel to public and private companies ranging from 2-person startups to 4,000-employee public companies.
