Core & Main Awarded Municipal Leadership Award for Waterworks Utility Project

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 11, 2018—Core & Main LP, the leading U.S. distributor of water, sewer and fire protection products, has received the 2018 Municipal Leadership Award (MLA) from the Alliance for PE Pipe, which includes leaders in the HDPE (high-density polyethylene) pipe industry who are committed to the advancement of PE pipe in municipal water systems. The project supported HDPE pipe used in the Austin Utilities municipal system in Minnesota, where the utility is replacing aging water main pipes with HDPE lines in conjunction with street replacement projects.

Core & Main offers utilities critical expertise in both materials, tools and installation services for a range of pipe solutions nationwide.

The MLA program recognizes innovative and instructional HDPE projects annually at its Industry Showcase. The program has a threefold objective: to celebrate innovative and instructional HDPE municipal jobs that highlight the unique characteristics of HDPE pipe in municipal settings; to provide recognition for the people and companies that are making a difference in the municipal water market; and to bolster a conduit of case study data of completed projects for its case study library.
