Core & Main’s Paul Thom awarded AWWA MN’s Benjamin G. Mason Award of Excellence

ST. LOUIS (October 23, 2017) – Paul Thom, Senior Manager of Business Development with Core & Main, was recently awarded the Benjamin G. Mason Award of Excellence by the Minnesota chapter of the American Water Works Association (AWWA MN).

The annual award is given to an AWWA MN manufacturer, engineer, or vendor member who has “demonstrated exemplary service to the drinking water community and to AWWA’s mission and goals.” In addition to this honor, Paul has also been nominated for the John Lechner Award of Excellence, which is the national level of this award, to be announced next June at the AWWA ACE18 Conference in Las Vegas, NV.

Paul has been with Core & Main and its predecessor companies since 1990, serving in various sales and marketing roles. He has been a member of AWWA since 1999, and currently serving on the Minnesota and National AWWA Manufacturers Associates Councils after assisting on several committees including Small Systems, Tapping Contest, Meter Madness and chairing the Minnesota Conference Program Committee. He has also been a presenter for district and state AWWA conferences across the county, and most recently a moderator for AWWA ACE17 in Philadelphia.

“As a company, we are proud to be sponsors of the national AWWA organization, but throughout the country, our associates like Paul get involved in AWWA’s state/local chapters, where a localized focus and actions can make a significant impact in their communities and our industry as well,” said Yvonne Bland, Vice President of Sales and Market Development. “In his current role as our Senior Manager of Business Development, Paul is committed to helping promote the importance of AWWA’s mission both from a corporate standpoint but also locally to our company’s sales team and managers across the country.”
