ST. LOUIS, Jan. 16, 2020—Core & Main LP, a leading U.S. distributor of water, sewer and fire protection products, received two 2019 Municipal Leadership Awards from the Alliance for PE Pipe, which is committed to advancing the benefits of HDPE (high-density polyethylene) pipe for the municipal water and wastewater industry. 
Core & Main supplied HDPE pipe and installation expertise for the award-winning municipal projects in Texas and Guyana, South America.
Partnering with the North Texas Municipal Water District in Plano, Texas, Core & Main championed a trenchless solution for sewer line installations in a high-traffic residential setting, allowing minimal traffic disruption in a constrained area and offering a no-leak solution for sewer replacement for that environment.
The Pegasus Hotel Force Main project in Georgetown, Guyana, South America, was recognized for Core & Main’s innovative implementation with the local utility, a first-time user of HDPE pipe focused on non-revenue water mitigation.
Core & Main Fusion Technician Jeff Cole was also recognized for his dedication to HDPE education in the waterworks industry. According to Peter Dyke, executive director of the Alliance for PE Pipe,
“Jeff won the Significant Contributor award was for selfless support of the Alliance's roadshow program and commitment to education. He helps us unload the truck, set up, teach classes, speak up during presentations, tear down, then load the truck back up again. The truck has 10,000 pounds of gear on it and he has done this at least 15 times in the last few years so it is no small deal. Jeff has a great way about him when he is teaching others how to fuse pipe and work with it in the field.”
