Laura Schneider

Laura Schneider is chief human resources officer for Core & Main, a leading specialized distributor with a focus on water, wastewater, storm drainage and fire protection products, and related services.

Schneider leads Core & Main’s human resources strategy to support the company’s accelerated growth and strategic direction as well as the needs and aspirations of its associates nationwide. In her time serving as CHRO since January 2018, she has developed a human resources function that drives leadership development and associate learning, while growing a performance-with-purpose culture that makes Core & Main a great place to work. Schneider oversees Core & Main’s brand management to drive business growth, integrate acquisitions and optimize sustainable talent acquisition in a competitive landscape.

With more than 30 years of experience in organizational development and talent management, Schneider has proven success in creating cultures that optimize associate engagement and empowerment for top performance. She joined the company as senior director of human resources in 2011 and was promoted to vice president in 2013. Previously, Schneider spent more than two decades with Anheuser-Busch InBev, where she held positions of increased responsibility, finally as senior director of human resources for the sales and wholesale operations divisions.

Schneider holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a certified iPEC executive coach and a member of the Society of Human Resource Management. She is an executive sponsor for the Women’s Network, which serves the professional development of Core & Main women and the broader industry. In 2019, she was awarded the Top HR Award from the St. Louis Business Journal. In 2021, Schneider joined the Great Rivers Greenway Brickline Core Leadership Team, to help make the St. Louis region a more vibrant place to live, work and play. She was recognized as a 2023 St. Louis Titan for her accomplishments as an industry leader.
